Why it matters

Medication management shouldn't be this difficult.

As prescriptions increase, routines change and more than one person becomes involved in someone's care, keeping track of medication can quickly become complicated. Behind every prescription is a person trying to remember what to take, when to take it and when it needs replacing — often with a family member or carer trying to help.

That's the problem MediMate is being developed to solve.

Why MediMate Was Born

It started around our kitchen table.

My husband Roger was taking an increasing number of medications, and although he wanted to remain independent, managing them became more complicated than either of us had imagined.

It wasn't simply about remembering tablets. It was remembering which medicines to take before breakfast, which after meals, making sure prescriptions were ordered before they ran out, and trying to support him — without making him feel dependent.

As Roger's health journey became more complex, I realised that medication doesn't just affect the person taking it. It affects the whole family. That experience inspired MediMate.

What MediMate Is Being Developed To Do

Complete Medication Management

MediMate is being developed to make medication management simpler, with reminders, pill images, clear instructions, PRN tracking, expiry alerts and prescription renewal reminders — all in one place.

Health Information Assistant

MediMate is being designed to help users understand medication and health information in clear, everyday language and prepare useful questions for healthcare professionals. It will not diagnose or replace professional medical advice.

Emergency Information Screen

MediMate is being developed to provide quick access to important emergency information, including allergies, conditions, current medications, blood group and emergency contacts.

Health Monitoring

MediMate is being developed to allow users to record and track important health information such as blood pressure, blood glucose, weight and oxygen saturation, and share relevant information with authorised members of their Care Circle.

Prescription & Refill Support

MediMate is being designed to make prescription and refill management easier, helping patients and authorised carers keep track of medication supplies, repeat prescriptions and pharmacy-related information.

Medical Records & Timeline

Keep specialist reports, GP notes, hospital discharge summaries, pathology results, radiology reports, operation reports and referral letters together in one patient-controlled record. Documents are organised chronologically so your medical history can follow you across different doctors and specialists.

Family & Carer Support

With appropriate authorisation, family members and carers can form part of a patient’s Care Circle. MediMate is being developed to help them keep track of medication schedules and identify missed or late doses when support is needed.

MediMate is being developed to give each patient a secure, patient-controlled longitudinal health record. Instead of important reports being scattered across different doctors, hospitals and specialists, they can be kept together and organised by date.

Patients and authorised carers can add specialist reports, GP notes, hospital discharge summaries, pathology and radiology results, operation reports, referral letters, diagnoses, treatment recommendations and medication history. Access remains role-based and patient controlled.
